NLC India Launches Green Energy Projects Subsidiary
In a significant development, NLC India Ltd, a state-owned enterprise, has announced the formation of a subsidiary company dedicated to advancing its ongoing renewable energy initiatives.
On June 14, 2023, NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL) was officially incorporated as a fully-owned subsidiary, as confirmed by a statement from NLC India. The primary objective of NIRL is to assume responsibility for NLC India’s existing renewable energy projects and assets.
Notably, NIRL aims to not only foster the growth of renewable energy ventures within India but also extend its reach overseas. The company is committed to the development of power generation systems utilizing various non-conventional and renewable energy sources such as wind, hydro, solar, tidal, geothermal, biomass, steam, wave, waste, hybrid, and other forms.
With its registration completed in Chennai, NIRL is set to initiate its business operations in the near future.
It is important to note that NLC India Ltd, operating under the Ministry of Coal, is primarily engaged in lignite and coal mining activities, as well as power generation endeavors.
