- Entries are open to all Indian citizens above 18 years of age residing in the country.
- Participants can submit their work in the form of videos, which can be uploaded on the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards website.
- Submissions must be a fully functioning prototype or finished project and not just a concept, idea, or mockup; it can be by an individual, a team, a non-profit or a social enterprise.
The Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR branch of Infosys, has announced the launch of the third edition of its Aarohan Social Innovation Awards. The aim of these awards is to promote and reward social innovators, individuals, teams, and NGOs who have developed technology-based solutions that have the potential to bring about significant change for the underprivileged in India. Innovators and social entrepreneurs from across the country are invited to participate in the awards
The Infosys Foundation will commit up to INR 50 lakh per winner, with a total award purse of INR 2 crore.
Sumit Virmani, Trustee of the Infosys Foundation, said that the foundation believes in the power of working towards social good and that the Aarohan awards further this goal by recognizing and rewarding the most impactful innovations with the potential to bring real change, at scale.
The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards 2023 will consider submissions in the following categories:
- Education
- Healthcare
- Women Empowerment
The panel of experts will assess the entries and choose the winners based on:
- Relevance to a social problem or need
- Scalability potential
- Innovative use of technology, with an emphasis on sustainability
- Originality of ideas
- User-friendliness
- Quality of presentation
