Maruti Suzuki, India’s top passenger vehicle exporter, has begun exporting its popular premium SUV, the Grand Vitara. The first shipment of Grand Vitara was sent to Latin America from Kamarajar port. The company plans to export the Grand Vitara to over 60 countries across Latin America, Africa, Middle East, ASEAN, and surrounding regions.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, stated, “In support of the Indian government’s efforts to increase exports from India, Maruti Suzuki has taken multiple actions to increase its global presence. Expanding our product offerings for exports has been a crucial factor in our success. With the addition of Grand Vitara, we now export a range of 17 vehicles.
The Grand Vitara, which was unveiled in July 2022, has received great response in the domestic market, and we are confident that the Indian-made Grand Vitara will also be successful in overseas markets.”
In 2022, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest ever export numbers with over 2.6 lakh vehicles exported. With the addition of Grand Vitara, the company aims to solidify its position as India’s leading passenger vehicle exporter.
