Bharti Airtel, a leading telecommunications provider in India, has announced the launch of its advanced Airtel 5G Plus services in several cities, including Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. The company’s 5G services are already available in Lucknow and Varanasi.
The roll-out of Airtel’s 5G Plus services will be phased as the company continues to build its network. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will have access to the Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost until the roll-out is more widespread. Currently, the service is operational in certain areas of the previously mentioned cities, but the company plans to expand its network in the future.
Sovan Mukherjee, CEO of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, commented on the launch saying, “I am excited to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. Customers in these cities can now experience ultrafast network speeds, up to 20-30 times faster than current 4G speeds. We are working on lighting up the entire city, which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, and instant photo uploading.”
Airtel’s 5G Plus services will enhance the company’s entire portfolio, offering superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, and instant photo uploading. Additionally, it will contribute to India’s economic growth by revolutionizing industries such as education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility and logistics.
Over the past year, Airtel has demonstrated the power of 5G through several use cases, including India’s first live 5G network in Hyderabad, India’s first 5G-powered hologram, India’s first recreation of a world cup match, India’s first 5G-connected ambulance and India’s first private 5G network with Bosch to boost manufacturing productivity.
