Bharat Electronics Secures Defence and Non-Defence Orders Worth Rs 2,191 Crore

In a significant development, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a Navratna defence PSU, has recently announced the acquisition of new defence and non-defence orders amounting to a total of Rs 2,191 crore. This news comes as a testament to the company’s growing prowess in the industry.

BEL has secured various orders for a range of critical equipment, including the Long Range Guidance Kit with Warhead, Airborne V/UHF Jammer, Battlefield Surveillance Radar (Short Range) Upgrade, Missile Guidance Radar & Control Centre, Upgraded Radio Relay (F) with Data Modem Encryption Unit Mk II, Identify Friend or Foe Mk XII A, Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) Sonar and Spares. These orders serve as a testament to BEL’s diverse capabilities and its commitment to meeting the country’s defence requirements.

It is worth noting that these new orders are in addition to the previously secured Rs 5,900 crore worth of orders. In total, BEL has received an impressive sum of Rs 8,091 crore in orders thus far in the current financial year of 2023-24.

Last week, the company revealed the receipt of orders worth Rs 5,900 crore, with a significant portion of Rs 3,914 crore attributed to the Akash Prime Weapon System. These orders involve enhancements to the Akash Weapon System, including capabilities for high altitude operations, simultaneous engagement of multiple threats, integration of missiles with RF Seekers, and a reduced physical footprint. The collaboration with BDL has resulted in the acquisition of orders for two regiments of the upgraded Akash Weapon System, solidifying BEL’s position as a trusted defence partner.

Furthermore, BEL has also secured additional orders valued at Rs 1,984 crore, encompassing various systems such as Shakti EW, Sanket & MK III naval systems, Jammer systems, MKBT systems, MK-XII Crypto Modules, and the upgrading of SDP display for Rohini radars. These orders demonstrate BEL’s versatility in delivering cutting-edge solutions across different domains.
