BPCL announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Rajasthan to establish a renewable energy power plant. However, no details regarding the timeline or investment for the project were provided.

The company aims for net zero emissions in Scope 1&2 by 2040, and plans to increase its renewable capacity to 1 GW by 2025 and 10 GW by 2040.
The MoU was signed by the Principal Secretary of the Department of Energy for Rajasthan and the Head of Renewable Energy for BPCL.
BPCL operates three oil refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina with a combined capacity of 38 million tonnes, as well as over 20,000 petrol pumps and 6,100 LPG distributorships.
The company plans to offer electric vehicle charging stations at around 7,000 petrol pumps over the next 5 years.
