BSE Reveals New Logo on 149th Anniversary
The BSE, Asia’s oldest stock exchange, is going to reveal a new logo on its 149th anniversary, Formerly known as the Bombay Stock Exchange, the BSE is renowned as the prominent Indian bourse, with its benchmark index S&P BSE Sensex serving as the face of the Indian capital markets.
Founded in 1875 as ‘The Native Share & Stock Brokers’ Association’ under the shade of a banyan tree in Mumbai’s Dalal Street, the BSE has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of the Indian corporate sector by providing an efficient platform for capital-raising over the past century.
In a historic move, BSE became India’s first listed stock exchange in 2017, offering a marketplace for trading in equity, currencies, debt instruments, derivatives, and mutual funds.
In recent news, the board of directors of BSE Ltd approved a significant share buyback valued at up to ₹374.80 crore, with each share priced at ₹816. The buyback process will be executed through a tender offer, and the record date will be determined by the buyback committee, according to the company’s regulatory filing.
