New Delhi: Leading fast-moving consumer goods company, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL), announced a significant stride in its expansion plans as it sealed a collaborative agreement with the Tamil Nadu government. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) paves the way for the establishment of a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in the state, marked by a substantial investment of Rs 515 crore over the course of the next five years.
The proposed facility, strategically situated in Thiruporur Taluk within the Chengalpattu vicinity, in close proximity to Chennai, is poised to facilitate enhanced access to the thriving southern markets. This upcoming plant will serve as a dedicated hub for the production of GCPL’s cornerstone brands, including renowned names like Cinthol, Godrej Expert Rich Crème, Godrej Selfie Shampoo Hair Colour, and Goodknight.
Nisaba Godrej, the esteemed Executive Chairperson of Godrej Consumer Products, expressed that the Rs 515 crore investment resonates harmoniously with GCPL’s long-standing strategy of active engagement with India’s trajectory of growth. The ripple effect of this establishment will be the creation of over 400 employment opportunities within Tamil Nadu.
