IoTechWorld Secures IFFCO Contract, Supplying 500 Agri-Drones
Gurugram-based agri-drone manufacturer, IoTechWorld Avigation, has announced a significant contract with Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) for the supply of 500 agri-drones. These state-of-the-art drones will primarily be utilized for the efficient spraying of nano liquid urea and Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) in agricultural operations.
As part of its broader plan to enhance productivity, IFFCO aims to acquire a total of 2,500 drones for the application of nano urea and nano DAP. Furthermore, the cooperative seeks to train 5,000 rural entrepreneurs in drone-based spraying techniques.
IoTechWorld Co-Founder, Anoop Upadhyay, affirmed, “By December 2023, our company will deliver 500 drones to IFFCO.” IoTechWorld, headquartered in Gurugram, proudly manufactures India’s first DGCA-type certified drone known as “AGRIBOT.” The company enjoys the support and backing of agro-chemical firm Dhanuka Agritech Ltd.
Deepak Bhardwaj, another co-founder of IoTechWorld, emphasized the specialized design and programming of the AGRIBOT for fertilizer applications. “This order from IFFCO underscores our strong position in the agri-drone industry,” he stated. Bhardwaj further highlighted the advantages of drone implementation in agriculture, including time and cost savings, increased farm productivity, and improved farmer health through the targeted spraying of pesticides.
Bhardwaj noted the surging demand for drones from various companies, including fertilizer and pesticide manufacturers, as well as rural entrepreneurs and farmers. In addition to IFFCO, IoTechWorld Avigation has established partnerships with agrochemical company Syngenta and has embarked on an extensive 17,000 km drone expedition across the nation. The company aims to sell over 3,000 drones in the current fiscal year and is actively exploring export opportunities in regions such as SAARC, South East Asia, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
IoTechWorld, together with its partners, is committed to empowering village-level entrepreneurs and supporting the establishment of remote pilot training organizations nationwide, Bhardwaj added.
