NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) Successfully Completes Its First Rooftop Solar PV Project at IIT Jodhpur, Rajasthan
NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a subsidiary of NTPC, has achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of its inaugural First Rooftop Solar PV Project at the esteemed IIT in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This noteworthy development took place on June 14, 2023.
Under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, NVVN has successfully implemented a one-megawatt grid-connected Solar Project. The project has been installed on the rooftops of 14 buildings situated within the IIT Jodhpur campus.
The initiative is projected to generate approximately 14.9 lakhs units of electricity per year. Moreover, it will fulfill 15 percent of the total electricity requirement of IIT Jodhpur. As a result, this Rooftop Solar PV Project will have a significant positive impact by reducing approximately 1060 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
