RVNL Bags L1 Bid for NHAI Project to Build Elevated Kona Expressway in West Bengal Worth Rs 720.67 Crore
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Category-I MiniRatna CPSE, has won the lowest bidder (L1) position for a National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) project valued at Rs 720.67 crore. The company will be constructing a six-lane elevated Kona expressway in West Bengal, spanning 7.192 kilometres.
The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis and is expected to take 910 days to complete. In a regulatory filing with the exchanges, RVNL announced its achievement and expressed its commitment to delivering the project with excellence.
On Thursday, RVNL revealed that its joint venture with Metrowagonmash and Locomotive Electronic System has been granted a Letter of Award (LoA) by the Ministry of Railways.
The JV will manufacture and maintain Vande Bharat Trainsets, including upgrading government manufacturing units and trainset depots. The company will provide a total of 200 Trainsets under the project, with a cost of Rs 120 crores per set, distributed among the JV. The contract will be executed over 82 months.
