RailTel secures order worth Rs 294.37 Cr from TASMAC
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has successfully won a significant order worth Rs 294.37 crore (including taxes) from the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC).
The project entails RailTel’s implementation of integrated solutions to facilitate end-to-end computerization and connectivity of core and support functions for TASMAC over a five-year period.
Sanjai Kumar, CMD of RailTel, emphasized the company’s strong technological expertise, industry partnerships, and execution capabilities as the key factors behind securing this prestigious project, further cementing RailTel’s position in the domestic ICT space.
Under the terms of the order, RailTel will serve as the system integrator and undertake the following responsibilities:
- Complete computerization of TASMAC operations, encompassing application design, development, and deployment.
- Establishment of data centers and data recovery centers, including clustering for seamless disaster recovery operations.
- Provision of IT infrastructure and services for the TASMAC system.
- Digitization of data, creation of master data, and migration of historical data.
- Internet connectivity deployment across various locations.
- Implementation of a dedicated help desk and staffing support.
- Full-scale management, operation, and maintenance of the hardware and software system for a five-year period.
Expressing his views on the development, Kumar stated that securing this comprehensive ICT project for TASMAC is a significant milestone for RailTel, as it contributes to the client’s digital transformation, transparency, and revenue assurance.
