SJVN Ltd, a leading renewable energy company, has recently entered into a significant agreement with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to facilitate the development of impressive 5,000 MW renewable energy projects in the state of Maharashtra, India.
This collaboration between SJVN Ltd and MAHAGENCO is geared towards exploring the feasibility of various renewable energy ventures in Maharashtra. These projects encompass a diverse range of technologies, including hydroelectric power, pumped storage, wind energy, solar power, hybrid solutions, and green hydrogen initiatives.
The joint effort will also involve active participation in tenders initiated by the Government of Maharashtra, specifically for the renovation and modernization of small hydroelectric power stations that are currently operated and maintained by MAHAGENCO.

With the signing of this MoU, SJVN Ltd has significantly bolstered its project portfolio, which now stands at an impressive 54,065 MW. Out of this total capacity, 2,091.5 MW is already operational, while the remaining capacity is at various stages of development.
The company remains committed to achieving its ambitious targets of generating 5,000 MW of renewable energy by the fiscal year 2023-24, 25,000 MW by 2030, and an impressive 50,000 MW by 2040.
