Suzlon Wins 47.6MW Wind Energy Project from KP Group
In a significant development for the renewable energy sector, Suzlon Group, a prominent provider of renewable energy solutions, has been awarded a contract to develop a 47.6 MW wind power project by KP Group in Gujarat. The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
The project site, situated in Vagra, Bharuch district in Gujarat, is expected to become operational in 2024, as stated in a company press release. Once completed, this project has the potential to generate electricity for approximately 36,000 households and reduce CO2 emissions by a staggering 1.42 lakh tonnes per year.
Suzlon will be responsible for the supply of their cutting-edge S133 wind turbines and will oversee the project’s execution and commissioning. Additionally, the company will offer comprehensive operations and maintenance services following the project’s completion.
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “The power generated by this initiative will cater to the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumer segment, a crucial sector for driving increased adoption of renewable energy in India.”
