Suzlon Wins 300 MW Wind Energy Project from Torrent Power
Suzlon, a developer of renewable energy solutions, declared on Wednesday that Torrent Power has awarded it a sizable contract for a 300 MW wind energy project. The order’s precise value is yet unknown.
In an official statement, Suzlon Group revealed that it has been awarded the project to develop a 300 MW wind power facility for Torrent Power, utilizing its new 3 MW series of wind turbines. The project, set to be located in Karnataka, is scheduled for commissioning in 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, Suzlon will be responsible for the supply and installation of 100 wind turbine generators. These turbines will feature a hybrid lattice tubular tower design and will boast a rated capacity of 3 MW each. Additionally, Suzlon will oversee the entire project execution, including the erection and commissioning processes. Post-commissioning, the company will also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services.
Expressing his satisfaction with the partnership, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, stated, “Suzlon and Torrent have a longstanding history of collaborating on numerous wind energy projects throughout the years. We are thrilled to further strengthen this partnership by introducing our most advanced turbine technology through the new 3 MW series.”

Torrent Power secured the project through a competitive bidding process in SECI Tranche XII and officially entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Suzlon in March 2023.
